Chris Anderson Blog Race – Part 1 & 2
Posted on 29. Jan, 2009 by Kristin Heinonen in Uncategorized
The blog race is up and running and so far Peter Sunde and Martin Thörnqvist have contributed with two excellent posts on the topic “Free”.
Peter raises the interesting question on how the value of art, music and products will change in the future.
“Art will change value, not only in an economical sense but also in a social one.’
Martin tells us how he causes a stir in music industry by stating that he prefers 100.000 listeners and a 100 buyers to 100 listeners and a 100 buyers.
“Stop focusing on that everybody didn’t pay for their specific copy – it didn’t cost you anything to reproduce and they’ll pay you somehow at the end of the day. If nothing else by helping you spread the message and that’s valuable enough!”
Chatting with Martin the other day he told me that he and Peter are thinking about doing speeches together. I think that opens up an extremely interesting perspective, combining TPB philosophy with commercial music industry reality.
Read their posts and you’ll see what I mean!
